Every sworn member of the Herculaneum Police Department is a Police Officer, regardless of rank, position or specialized assignment. Police Officers are responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the protection of life and property, enforcement of criminal and traffic laws, prevention of crime, preservation of the public peace, apprehension of criminals, and calls for service. They will perform these duties as prescribed in the Department orders, standard operating procedures, directives, and as directed by their supervisors.


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $53,000 – $61,500 (based on experience)
  • Lateral Pay: Offered at a 2:1 rate
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts
  • Appearance Policy: Relaxed guidelines for tattoos and facial hair
  • Health Benefits: Medical insurance with low premiums
  • Retirement: LAGERS Level L-6 pension plan
  • Requirements:
    • Must hold a Missouri Class A POST license by appointment date
    • Must pass a psychological exam, drug test, and background check

  • Equipment: All necessary gear provided
