The City of Herculaneum requires construction permits for both commercial and residential structures. These permits cover a range of projects, including buildings, fences, retaining walls, and signs. Only contractors licensed by the City are authorized to perform work within Herculaneum.
Application Submission: Submit your permit applications at least two weeks before your anticipated start date. While the City aims to process all applications within one to two business weeks, the actual turnaround time may vary due to seasonal fluctuations, project complexity, and the accuracy of the application.
Permit Fees: The cost of construction and the number of disciplines involved determine the permit fee. Whether you’re working on a commercial or residential project, contact the Department at 636-475-4447 for assistance in calculating the permit fee or any other information you may need.
Once application is reviewed, you will receive an approved application for posting at premises during time of sale. Yard sale permits may be submitted electronically to: lramey@cityofherculaneum.gov
